Ontario Agricultural College food economist Dr. Mike von Massow discussed the increase in food costs with BNN Bloomberg.  

Von Massow said high chicken prices noted in Statistics Canada’s January inflation numbers are likely due to increased feed costs, before commenting on other grocery costs and the current government inquiry into grocery store profits. 

A professor in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics, von Massow researches retail and restaurant food demand, supply chain management, and value chain structure and performance.
