Dr. Samantha Brennan, dean of the College of Arts, lent her thoughts to Chatelaine about media representation of older women when it comes to body positivity.

“My impression is that the media is better at representing women of different sizes than including imagery of older women. Ditto women of a range of races and ethnicities,” Brennan said.

Brennan is a professor in the Department of Philosophy, a co-founder of the feminist fitness blog Fit is a Feminist Issue and a co-author of Fit at Mid-life: A Feminist Fitness Journey. She researches feminist philosophy and contemporary normative and applied ethics.
