Ontario Agricultural College food scientist Dr. Maria Corradini discussed the importance of best-before dates with CBC Business, following the release of a national survey that found 32 per cent of Canadians are against removing them.
Corradini said removing best-before dates would eliminate a source of information for consumers about product’safety.
A professor in the Department of Food Science, Corradini researches the development of novel techniques to study foods including their biophysical behaviour and stability. She holds the Arrell Chair in Food Quality.
