Dr. Evan Fraser, the director of the Arrell Food Institute, commented on recommendations by a Canadian farmers group about ways to reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions to The Globe and Mail.
“We’re becoming aware of how important managing agriculture is in terms of our overall carbon emission reduction strategy or greenhouse-gas emission reduction strategy for our country,” Fraser said.
As well as a professor in the Department of Geography, Environment & Geomatics, Fraser helps lead the Food from Thought initiative and is the Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security, studying food security, rural agricultural policy and how each is affected by climate change.
