Dr. Evan Fraser, the director of the Arrell Food Institute, spoke to CBC Radio’s Spark about the future of the global food system.
Fraser discussed current challenges, saying efforts to develop new food and agriculture technologies must be accompanied by efforts to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change.
As well as a professor in the Department of Geography, Environment & Geomatics, Fraser is the Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security and studies food security, food prices, rural agricultural policy and how each is affected by climate change.
