Chris Earley holds his book "Feed the Birds".
Chris Earley

Chris Earley, an interpretive biologist and education coordinator at U of G’s Arboretum, explained to The Weather Network why people shouldn’t seek to eliminate insects from their gardens and backyards .

“From a natural standpoint, all insects are beneficial,” Earley said, adding insects have co-evolved along with plants and are, therefore, intrinsic to their ecosystems.

An adjunct faculty member in the Department of Integrative Biology, Earley has published several books on insects and birds and teaches workshops at the Arboretum on topics such as birds, dragonflies and art.
