Dr. Jeffrey Wichtel, the dean of U of G’s Ontario Veterinary College, appeared on TVO’s The Agenda for an episode examining the shortage of veterinarians in Ontario.

Wichtel discussed the current surge in demand for vets and why there likely would have been an increase in demand by now, even without the “pandemic pets” phenomenon.  He went on to discuss what can be done to alleviate the pressures on vet colleges like the one at U of G.

The dean of OVC since 2015, Wichtel holds a faculty appointment in OVC’s Department of Population Medicine, and he brings extensive experience as an animal nutrition researcher, clinician and administrator.
