A temporary barrier-free entrance at the north end of the University Centre (by Branion Plaza) is now in place to accommodate construction in the building. Users of the space will enter through this temporary entrance and travel past Starbucks and around the north elevators to gain access to the University Centre. All University Centre services – with the exception of Starbucks – remain open and accessible.
The work at the north entrance will take place during the day and in the evening until around Aug. 16. Daytime work is required to make up time lost due to unforeseen circumstances.
Demolition has also begun at the UC’s south entrance (near the bus loop).
If you have booked a meeting room in the University Centre in the next week, there will be noisy work taking place. You may want to consider booking meeting space in other buildings if you think the noise will be problematic.
The project team will ensure the entrances and courtyard are open by September. Tiling work may continue at a future date.
Your understanding and patience is appreciated.
