Prof. Evan Fraser appeared in VICE on Nov. 21 in an excerpt from journalist Rebecca Tucker’s new book, A Matter of Taste.
Fraser, director of the Arrell Food Institute at U of G, was highlighted as someone who believes that broken food systems can be fixed. Tucker mentions the think tank Feeding 9 Billion, led by Fraser, as a place that’s focused on developing food systems that will feed the planet’s population once it reaches the projected nine billion people in 2050.
The book touts Fraser as the world’s most prominent voice on food security and the future of sustainable food.
Fraser is a professor in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics, and Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security. He studies links between food security, land use, and global environmental and economic change.
