Motherboard featured the Guelph Centre for Cannabis Research at the University of Guelph in an Oct. 19 article.

With cannabis now legal in Canada, scientists face fewer restrictions in studying cannabis and its production.

Existing knowledge on cannabis production is often based on anecdotal experiences and poorly designed experiments, illustrating a need for rigorous scientific research, the article stated.

Funds are currently being raised for the innovative Guelph Centre for Cannabis Research, whose members will study areas including genetics, production, medicinal compound analysis, and human and animal health benefits.
