U of G professor Andrew Hathaway was interviewed for an Oct. 15 New York Times story about Canada’s move to legalize cannabis after 95 years of prohibition.

The story got picked up by The Boston Globe and the Las Vegas Sun.

Hathaway, who teaches in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at U of G, discussed how regulation and corporatization of cannabis will impact cannabis culture, traditionally viewed as liberal and anti-establishment.

He has spent more than a decade researching cannabis use in marginalized and mainstream populations, and has looked at implications for social policy development.
