The new home of the College of Business and Economics, Macdonald Hall was showcased in a Globe and Mail special feature on redesign of business schools. Dean Julia Christensen Hughes and student Madeline DeCorso, president of the Business and Economics Student Association, discussed changes to the former women’s residence and benefits for students. Following a $12-million renovation, the historic building features multimedia classrooms, student support services, study spaces, a student gathering place and a locally owned fair trade coffee shop. The article says the redesign means “flexible classroom design, informal learning spaces and responsiveness to student needs.”
