University of Guelph professor Ross McKitrick has studied and written about carbon pricing for more than 20 years. In an editorial for the Financial Post, McKitrick, Department of Economics and Finance, said recent carbon-tax boosterism led by such groups as the EcoFiscal Commission and Canadians for Clean Prosperity is superficial. He warned that a poorly designed carbon tax could do more harm than good. He described a strong carbon policy in a recent report for the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy.
