Prof. Shane Bateman in the Ontario Veterinary College is featured in a Global TV story on the hazards of leaving pets in cars on hot days.
Bateman, a clinical studies professor, says dogs can develop heat stroke quickly. In the news story, he explains what happens to a dog’s body inside a hot vehicle.
Bateman is a veterinarian and chair of the board of the Guelph Humane Society. He is also regional veterinary director of the Golden Triangle chapter of Community Veterinary Outreach, which provides preventive veterinary education and care to the animals of homeless and street-involved people.
