Professor emerita Anne Wilcock, marketing and consumer studies, has received a 2014 Medal of Merit from the CSA Group (Canadian Standards Association). The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership in developing voluntary standards and have advanced the purpose of the organization.

CSA Group is an independent, not-for-profit member-based association that has been involved in standards development and product certification for nearly a century.

Among her contributions to the organization, Wilcock is currently serving as program advisor to the CSA National Academic Challenge, and three of her Guelph students were finalists in the 2014 competition.

Alexis Wagner, biological and food engineering; Brandon Guild, food science; and David Ioi, food science, submitted a project they completed as a semester project in the quality management course taught by Wilcock during U of G’s winter semester. The project title was entitled “Demanding Intervention: Personnel Certification in Solar Radiation Management.”
