An Equine Guelph partnership with the Minnesota State Fair received two Awards of Excellence at the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) convention held in Las Vegas in December.

The awards recognized the EquiMania! exhibit and the five-year educational partnership program.

Produced by U of G’s Equine Guelph, EquiMania! is an interactive youth education program and exhibition designed to teach kids about horse health and safety. Last year, the two partners presented the program at the Minnesota State Fair – the second largest fair in the United States. EquiMania! will showcase again at the 2014 fair, Aug. 21 to Sept. 1.

“We were absolutely thrilled to work with the Minnesota State Fair to replicate our original EquiMania! exhibit,” said Gayle Ecker, director of Equine Guelph.

“The EquiMania! display captivated a multitude of horse lovers with its engaging activities,” said Michelle Butler, agriculture education manager of the Minnesota Fair.
