Anthony Clarke Appointed Journal Editor

Microbiology professor Anthony Clarke has been appointed co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Microbiology, beginning this month.

Published since 1954, the monthly journal is affiliated with the Canadian Society of Microbiologists. It contains new research in the field of microbiology, including applied microbiology and biotechnology; microbial structure and function; fungi and other eucaryotic protists; infection and immunity; microbial ecology; physiology, metabolism and enzymology; and virology, genetics, and molecular biology. The journal also publishes review articles and notes contributed by recognized scientists worldwide.

Clarke, who is also U of G’s assistant vice-president (graduate studies and program quality assurance), has been serving the journal as a section editor. In his new role, he will lead the publication through the next two years with co-editor James Germida, vice-provost and professor soil science at the University of Saskatchewan.
