Co-chairs for the annual University of Guelph United Way campaign met last week with campus volunteers who will help to run the annual fundraising drive. Now in his second year as a co-chair, history professor Stuart McCook introduced the other 2013 chairs: Kim Best, department and undergraduate secretary in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and undergraduate students Remy Marlett, marketing management, and Jolène Labbé, arts and science.

President Alastair Summerlee was also on hand to thank the group for their efforts on behalf of the University community and Guelph – Wellington – Dufferin United Way. The University community donated just over $600,000 last year.

The 2013 campus campaign will kick off with a barbecue in Branion Plaza on Sept. 26. The city/county United Way campaign will also be launched from the U of G campus this year, with a ceremonial kick off at the Hamilton Ti-Cats game Sept. 7.
