Jessica Kelly, a master’s student in Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics, has received the 2013 Douglas McRorie Memorial Scholarship from the Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation. Given to three graduate students in Canada each year, the $3,000 award honours the late Douglas McRorie, who was vice-president of agriculture for the Royal Bank of Canada and a respected agricultural leader in Canada. Created in 1990, the award is supported by the RBC Foundation.

Kelly studies Canadian food prices. Earlier, she studied business administration at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. There she taught and served as international outreach co-ordinator for Ivey Connects, the school’s student philanthropy group.
