Agriculture communicators from around the world will be hosted by University of Guelph researchers Sept. 18 and 19 following the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Congress.
Organized by the Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation, the five-day conference runs Sept. 14 to 16 in Guelph and Niagara Falls and is expected to attract 250 delegates from IFAJ’s 29 member countries.
Delegates who opt for a post-conference tour focused on agricultural research will visit U of G’s Arkell Research Station, the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario and the Space and Advanced Life Support Agriculture program; talk with researchers studying omega-3 fatty acids; and see a demonstration of the telemetric bolus, a computer technology that records temperature readings inside a cow, making it easier for farmers to detect low-grade fevers.
The U of G research tour is organized by research communications staff in the Office of Research.
