Maureen Sabia, chair of the board for Canadian Tire Corporation and a former member of the University of Guelph’s Board of Governors, spoke Sept. 23 at the Women of Influence luncheon series in Toronto.

In addition to chairing the board of a major Canadian corporation, a responsibility held by less than five women, she has served as chair of the Export Development Corporation (Export Development Canada) and as a member of six other major boards.

The Women of Influence series offers a forum for professional women to network. Sabia shared tips on achieving corporate success and spoke about the importance of fostering positive relations between management and members of the board.
