Two obsolete buildings on campus, the Textiles Building and the Environmental Biology Annex, will be demolished this summer. Physical Resources has engaged a general contractor to complete the demolition, and construction fencing has been erected around both sites.

Demolition of the Textiles Building, located across from Macdonald Hall, will begin this week and continue throughout June. The parking lots near the building, P23 and P24, will be reconstructed and improved, including reworking the entrances, curbing, islands, some new lighting and resurfacing.

Work on the parking lots will take place between June 14 and August 20. The south end of both parking lots, including the College Avenue entrance and Macdonald Lane entrance, will be open for Alumni Weekend events June 17 to 20, then closed until August 20.

The Environmental Biology Annex, located behind Graham Hall, will come down during the first three weeks of July. The parking lot on the west side of the annex will remain open until the fenced area is closed for building demolition.
