The Centre for Cardiovascular Investigations will launch a Distinguished Scientist Lecture series with nationally renowned cardiologist Dr. Gavin Oudit.
A staff cardiologist and clinician-scientist at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, University of Alberta, he will focus his talk on “Translational Approaches for Novel Heart Failure Therapies: Time for Personalized Medicine?”
His presentation will begin with an introduction by Malcolm Campbell, vice-president research, University of Guelph.
Oudit’s research activities are diverse with a primary emphasis on heart failure and arrhythmias. His clinical activity focuses on heart failure, which includes patients with iron-overload cardiomyopathy, Fabry’s disease, metabolic disorders and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. He is a Canada Research Chair in Heart Failure.
