This program will help you identify trees in Ontario. The focus will be on learning important identification characteristics. Difficult groups such as the cherry, oak and walnut families as well as easier groups such as ash and maple will be explored. The afternoon will be spent outside identifying trees in the forest and young cultivated trees with their Eurasian counterparts in the Arboretum’s World of Trees collection. Bring your field guide and binoculars. The workshop will be led by Arboretum director Shelley Hunt. Early bird fee is $75. Registration deadline is Sept. 15.
