Dr Sylvanus Kwaku Afesorgbor is an Associate Professor of Agri-Food Trade and Policy, Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of Guelph, Canada. He was a Visiting Professor (Jean Monnet Fellow-2023/24) at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, Florence, Italy. His research and teaching focus on the areas of international trade, political economy, international development, energy and environment, food and agriculture, and meta-analysis. Dr. Afesorgbor’s research has been published in reputable journals such as Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics, Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy, World Development, Energy Policy, Journal of African Economies, Review of Development Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, etc and he is an Associate Editor for the journal, Climate and Development. Apart from his academic work, he is the current Chair of International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (IATRC), and the Executive Founder of the international think tank Centre for Trade Analysis and Development (CeTAD Africa) based in Ghana.
