Mario Deschamps, special constable, Campus Community Police, shares his recent Leave for Change (L4C) experience, raising awareness and emergency preparedness at two colleges in Vietnam.
“Leave for Change is about sharing experiences and knowledge with others to aid in life sustainability, preservation and a better quality of life,” he says. “I was able to share both in giving and receiving life experience and culture and creating new partnerships and friendships.”
Leave for Change is a program of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), two leading international development organizations.
As a partner in this program, U of G will support up to seven faculty and staff participating in short-term (three- or four-week) volunteer assignments in a developing country this year. Applications will be accepted until March 7.
