September 27 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

New US tariffs just landed. How did Canada get here? Join a documentary screening and cross-partisan community conversation about Canada’s path forward.
Join Resistance & Resilience Guelph and OPIRG Guelph for a screening of How to Buy a Country, followed by a community conversation about the future we want for Canada.
The 50-minute documentary explores the political, economic, and environmental forces shaping Canada and our relationship with the United States. But this evening isn’t just about looking backward. We want to talk about where we go from here.
Following the screening, we’ll hear perspectives from representatives from across political parties about their visions for Canada’s future – and then open the conversation to you.
What should Canada’s path forward look like? What do we want to protect? What needs to change? And what can communities like Guelph, which is one of the most impacted cities in Canada by US tariffs, do?
Come listen, ask questions, meet neighbours and leaders, and share your own vision for the country we want to build.
Tickets are Pay What You Can (suggested $10). This helps cover events costs. Any extra funds will go towards community programs that support Guelph through the impact of US tariffs.
