The University of Guelph’s Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance is hosting a public community engagement forum titled “From Reconciliation to the ‘Re-Confederation’ of Canada.” Panelists will explore the potential for new “nation to nation” partnership arrangements between First Nations and the broader Canadian society, as well as the legal, social, economic and environmental implications for the country. The panel will feature leaders in aboriginal treaty negotiation, self-government and First Nations economic development, and Prof. Jeji Varghese, a faculty member in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at U of G.
