February 13 @ 4:00 pm - 5:20 pm

Do you need to sound like a “native speaker of English” to be understood? The simple answer is no!

In this pronunciation workshop, participants will explore the notion of nativeness in English, various misconceptions about (non)nativeness, and the role of English in intercultural communication. Participants will also have an opportunity to experiment with and brainstorm strategies to increase mutual intelligibility without having to sound like a native English speaker.

This workshop is open to undergraduate and graduate students who identify as users of English as an additional language.
