Rebecca Knaggs, residence admissions liaison, Student Housing Services, discusses her recent Leave for Change experience teaching youth about gender equality in Peru.
She says her experience through Leave for Change can be captured by this Peruvian proverb: “Poco a poco, se camina lejos” (Little by little, one walks far).
Leave for Change is a program of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), two leading international development organizations.
As a partner in this program, U of G will support up to seven faculty and staff participating in short-term (three- or four- week) volunteer assignments in a developing country this year. Applications will be accepted until March 7.
