The University of Guelph community is mourning the death of Dr. Marcel Schlaf, faculty member and associate chair in the College of Computational Mathematical and Physical Sciences Department of Chemistry, who passed away on Feb. 1, 2026.
College and Department of Chemistry leadership reflected on his role at U of G with the CCMPS community.
His obituary is posted on Guelph Today. A Celebration of Life will take place at the University April 11 from 1 to 4 in the afternoon at the Arboretum Centre on the University of Guelph Campus.
Campus flags will be lowered to half-mast on Friday, Feb. 6 in his honour.
