Campus Safety Update: High-Risk Offender

UPDATE: Following a police investigation, the individual was located and arrested by officers with the Guelph Police Service on July 25, 2025.


The Guelph Police Service (GPS) has posted an update regarding a high-risk offender who was released from custody on July 24.

To help ensure the safety of our campus community, the University of Guelph shared this update on social media, and it will be shared by the Campus Security Office (CSO) on the SafeGryphon app.

The individual has a history of violence that includes two stranger sexual assaults. The Guelph Police Service believes he poses a risk to the community, particularly to women.

His description is as follows: Black male, 5’9”, slim build, 36 years of age, dark hair and brown eyes.
