Last night, a water pipe burst in the Stewart Building at Ontario Veterinary College’s (OVC) Health Sciences Centre, causing water damage to some parts of the centre. As a result, the Stewart Building and the Large Animal Hospital are temporarily closed while response is underway. The incident has not compromised patient safety.

All surgeries scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 21 in both the Companion Animal Hospital and Large Animal Hospital have been cancelled.

OVC DVM students have been informed and are encouraged to contact their rotation coordinators for updates regarding their academic activities. Faculty and staff have also been notified.

Hospital clients with scheduled surgeries or other appointments are advised to contact the following Client Services numbers for further information:

OVC Companion Animal Hospital: 519-823-8830

OVC Large Animal Hospital: 519-823-8840

We appreciate your patience as we work to address the situation and will provide further updates as they become available.
