What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is more than a day. It’s a movement that inspires millions to make a difference. At the University of Guelph, dreams don’t just start — they spark to life with the right support. A single gift can be the spark that helps a student overcome obstacles and pursue their passion. Gifts to the University’s Highest Priority Fund empower students with resources they need — like financial aid, healthy food, and high-quality learning spaces — to thrive at university and beyond.

When you donate to the University’s Highest Priority Fund on Giving Tuesday, your impact will be doubled through matching donations.

Meet the generous donors who are doubling your donation:

We thank Bruce Waddell, B.Sc. (Agr.) ’76, and Carolyn Waddell (née Pinkham), BA ’75, along with the University of Guelph Alumni Association (UGAA), for their generous matching donations. Bruce and Carolyn met at U of G in the 1970s and found their university experience so enriching that they began giving back after graduation to help students access similar opportunities. The UGAA shares this commitment to student success and believes in the power of education to transform lives.

Together, these matching donors are helping to double the impact of gifts made to the University’s Highest Priority Fund on Giving Tuesday.
