This past weekend, the University of Guelph proudly unveiled the Guelph Gryphon Football Honour Wall, a striking new tribute to the rich history and achievements of Gryphon Football.
In addition to showcasing the accomplishments of past and present U of G football players, the wall also commemorates the contributions of players, coaches, staff, parents and community members who have had a lasting impact on the program. The names of those who have been quiet contributors, agents of change and leaders in the sport have been engraved on the wall, acting as a time capsule containing the names of those who had a shared passion for Gryphon Football.
“The Honour Wall is not only a physical monument to our program’s history, but it is also a living, evolving tribute to the people who have shaped Gryphon Football over the years,” said Scott McRoberts, U of G Director of Athletics. “It represents the dedication, hard work, and passion that have built our legacy and will continue to inspire future generations of Gryphons.”
The Honour Wall, designed by Cygnus Design Group out of Toronto, will be updated every five years, ensuring that the legacy of Gryphon Football continues to grow and be recognized. The Friends of Gryphon Football committee will circulate calls for nominations to be added to the wall through their newsletter and via the Gryphon Football Website.
U of G Athletics invites you to visit the Guelph Gryphon Football Honour Wall at the entrance Alumni Stadium and take part in celebrating the rich tradition of Gryphon Football.
