At the University of Guelph, we recognize the integral role we play in our community and the opportunity we have to truly make a difference. That’s why our commitment to Improve Life is at the heart of everything we do and why we are so proud of our over 40-year partnership with United Way. Over this time, we’ve been able to work together to raise over $13 million to create lasting positive change.
The United Way is uniquely able to focus and unite people and resources by creating support, connection and opportunity within our community. We stand with them in believing that Better Is Possible.
We are also excited to share that this year Claire Alexander will be leading as Staff Co-Chair along with John Walsh as Faculty Co-chair and I am confident they will continue to grow this important partnership.
“It is incredible to see the University of Guelph and United Way continuing to work together to support the community” shares Claire Alexander, associate director, Office of Ceremonies and Events.
“Our long partnership with the United Way is really a testament to the generous spirit of our entire community” adds Dr. John Walsh, associate professor and director, School of Languages and Literature.
I invite you to join me and representatives from across U of G, the United Way and the City of Guelph to officially kick off this year’s campaign.

Your Contribution Matters
Better is Possible when we are all committed to showing up, to doing our small part every day and believing that it will all add up to better in the end.
Each contribution and action, no matter how big or small, is an opportunity to make a difference in our community.
To donate, please make your online pledge before December 12.
Faculty and staff who select the “payroll deduction” option will automatically be set up for this deduction in the following year’s United Way campaign. For those who selected payroll deduction last year, your donation will continue for this year’s campaign and beyond until you cancel or update the amount.
Tax receipt details for all donations will be provided via a confirmation email.
We want to say thank you!
