On the second Sunday in September, this year occurring on Sept. 8, U of G recognizes Firefighters’ National Memorial Day by lowering the flags to half-mast.

Firefighters’ National Memorial Day is a tribute to the firefighters who risk their lives to keep Canadians safe and designated in memory of firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty.
