Dear faculty and staff,

I am writing to inform you that President Charlotte Yates has commenced a leave.  

For the duration of her leave, Dr. Rene Van Acker, Vice-President (Research & Innovation), will serve as Acting President & Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Shayan Sharif will serve as Acting Vice-President (Research & Innovation). 

Out of respect for Dr. Yates’ privacy, we are not sharing further details and ask that you refrain from contacting her while she is on leave.  

On behalf of the Board of Governors, I would like to offer my thanks for your ongoing support and dedication to the University and my very best wishes for a successful semester ahead.
