In Spring of 2023, we introduced our strategic vision for the next five years – Our Time. Inspired by our mission, Our Time builds on our existing strengths as one of Canada’s top research-intensive universities. It charts a course forward that empowers our students, faculty, and staff, while putting bold ideas into action.

Informed by our rich history and guided by our values, we are ready for the next step in our journey.

The Our Time Roadmap

Today, we are pleased to share that we have reached an exciting milestone – the launch of the Our Time Roadmap. In essence, this Roadmap is how we will continue bringing Our Time’s vision, values, and strategic priorities to life across our University.

It includes 25 objectives designed to advance our shared goals, with corresponding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that illustrate how leadership will hold itself accountable to ensure our collective success.

The Roadmap and You

While the Roadmap holds us accountable to specific objectives and indicators, Our Time is about more than KPIs. Our Strategic Plan is a bold vision for the future intended to inspire and guide our University community as we Improve Life – while simultaneously helping us prioritize our efforts.

There is so much talent, dedication, and passion at the University of Guelph. As we continue to realize our vision, we need your help.

We encourage you to use the Strategic Plan and the Roadmap to infuse our strategic priorities into everything you do. By working together as we advance our scholarly pursuits, support our students and contribute to the betterment of the University community, we can bring our vision to life across U of G.

How We Developed the Roadmap

To ensure the Roadmap is reflective of our greater University community, we took a holistic approach to its development.

We received input and feedback from faculty, staff, and students across U of G through a variety of forums. Our Board of Governors and Senate also played a part in establishing our objectives and KPIs. Building our future is a collective effort – so we wanted to ensure that we represented voices from across our institution.

What You Can Expect Next

It is critical that everyone has a clear understanding of how their role fits into this bigger picture. We all have an important role to play. Feel free to ask questions, share ideas, and give feedback either to your leader or by emailing ourtime@uoguelph.ca. Your voice matters.

We also want to highlight the great work that you are doing. You can expect more storytelling and coverage on our Intranet over the course of the year. There will be so much we can learn from one another along this journey. We want to hear stories of your successes.

We thank you for your passion and unwavering commitment. You play an invaluable role in our future, and your contributions have shaped our University into the great institution that it is today.

We look forward to advancing our mission to Improve Life with you in the years ahead.

Warm regards,

The University Executive Team
