Once again, the University of Guelph is coming together to support our local community in partnership with the United Way. Our donations support important offerings such as food security initiatives, housing supports, vulnerable youth programming and community initiatives in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin. This year’s campaign will run from Sept. 21 to Dec. 15.
“Supporting our local communities is engrained in our culture at the U of G and I’m proud to see the University rally around an important initiative”, said Dr. Michael von Massow, Chair of U of G’s United Way partnership. “In 2022, the U of G raised more than $500,000 for the United Way, serving as a cornerstone in the University’s annual giving campaign and a critical contribution to the United Way’s total. The need has never been greater and with our help, better is possible.”
Join us at the kickoff event on Sept. 21!
Join Dr. Charlotte Yates, president and vice-chancellor, as she and representatives from across U of G, the United Way and the City of Guelph officially kick off the United Way campaign.
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Branion Plaza
Food trucks, popcorn, cotton candy, music and more!
How you can get involved
Donations, whether big or small, make a difference in our communities. To donate, please visit our website.
Faculty and staff who select the “payroll deduction” option will automatically be set up for this deduction in next year’s 2024 United Way campaign unless they select to “opt out” out of the recurring donation.
Staff who have made a one-time donation, can expect to receive a tax receipt within three weeks of their donation. Those giving a monthly donation, will receive a tax receipt in December to cover the total contributions for the year. The tax receipt will be sent by e-mail. Those who have made a payroll donation will receive their tax receipt on their T4.
If you have any questions, please contact Jillian Tausky at jillian@unitedwayguelph.com.
We want to say thank you!
