Researchers in the Ontario Agricultural College‘s School of Environmental Sciences spoke to The Globe and Mail for a photo essay about their pollinator tracking research. 

Dr. Nigel Raine, a professor in the School of Environmental Sciences along with post-doctoral researcher Amanda Liczner explained how they are using radio telemetry to track the flights of bumblebees and butterflies to investigate the sub-lethal effects of environmental stressors such as pesticides on the movement of these important pollinators. 

Raine holds the Rebanks Family Chair in Pollinator Conservation at U of G and is a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society and the Linnean Society of London. Liczner is lead researcher on the bumblebee tracking project.
