New Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence Cyber Space Opened
On Friday, Jan. 27, the University of Guelph cut the ribbon on a new state-of-art research and teaching space for the Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence (MCTI) graduate program. The more than 4,000 square foot newly renovated space consists of a large classroom, four meeting rooms, office space and a cybersecurity lab to support PhD students.
Industry demand for professionals in this field has never been higher. Graduates of this master’s program will become leaders in security analysis and design, threat intelligence, penetration testing and malware analysis, cryptography engineering and digital forensics.
Ben Bradshaw, AVP of Graduate Studies was excited to talk with current students.“The curriculum is perfect for me. I really like that it’s a one-year program. Developed with input from the industry I knew it would be relevant for the field. This was critical in my decision making to pick the U of G.” – Charles Obi, current MCTI international graduate student.In 2023/2024 the program’s intake will grow to 50 students in the Fall and another 50 students in the Winter.Industry partners are excited for the expertise U of G grads will bring to the workforce after completing a Master’s of Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence.“It was incredible to be surrounded by our industry partners, students and Uni staff who have worked so hard to create this space.
