Dr. Simon Somogyi, an agribusiness researcher in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, explained why food prices continue to remain high on an episode of the Financial Post’s podcast Down to Business.  

Somogyi said climate change, the Ukrainian-Russian war and labour shortages are contributing to price increases, along with drought and diseases. 

The Arrell Chair in the Business of Food and a professor in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, Somogyi researches agri-food value chain analysis and management.
