Dr. Evan Fraser, the director of the Arrell Food Institute, discussed how technology could help improve agriculture in a commentary for the Financial Post, which he co-authored with Dr. Lenore Newman at the University of the Fraser Valley.

The commentary appeared in more than a dozen publications across Canada. 

Fraser and Newman broke down the factors behind high food prices before explaining how technological innovations, such as vertical farming, could help improve the food system.  

A professor in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics, Fraser is the Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security and studies food security, food prices, rural agricultural policy and how each is affected by climate change.
