Agribusiness researcher Dr. Simon Somogyi discussed the impacts of California’s drought on Canadian food systems with CBC News.

For an article that appeared on CBC News Online examining how climate change might affect Canada’s food supply, Somogyi discussed some ways Canada could grow its own food year-round. He noted that investing in greenhouses and indoor farming would help Canada produce food outside its growing season.

A video report also appeared on CBC’s The National.

The Arrell Chair in the Business of Food and a professor in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, Somogyi researches agri-food value chain analysis and management.
