The University of Guelph joins other Canadians in mourning after a fatal mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, over the weekend.
Ten people were killed and several others were wounded during a shooting at a grocery store on Saturday. Police are calling the incident a hate crime that was motivated by anti-Black racism.
The University of Guelph condemns this senseless act of hatred and violence. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and anyone else affected by this tragedy. As we reflect on this tragic event, let us recommit ourselves to combatting anti-Black racism and to building stronger, more inclusive communities.
