The most recent U of G Board of Governors meeting was held on April 21. Below are key highlights from the meeting. A full synopsis of the meeting will be available on the University Secretariat’s website.
Budget Plan Approved
The budget is one of the University’s key strategy documents and articulates how it will allocate resources in support of its mission over the coming fiscal years. At its most recent meeting, the Board approved the 2022-23 budget plan. A further update on the 2022-23 budget plan will be presented at the Board’s next regular meeting in June.
More information on the budget can be found on the University’s budget website.
Bedrock Aquifer Field Facility Approved
The Bedrock Aquifer Field Facility (BAFF) is the proposed home of the Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Centre (MG360), which is part of the School of Engineering (SOE) within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS).
By incorporating boreholes and real-time monitoring technologies on site, the Centre will redefine the University’s ability to conduct hands-on research and training, and will enable it to develop scientists, innovators and professionals who will lead the next era of groundwater scholarship and stewardship.
The new facility is supported by a $10-million gift from long-time U of G benefactor Edward (Ted) Morwick.
