Agribusiness researcher Dr. Simon Somogyi spoke to CBC Radio in an interview that aired on several CBC stations about the pressure on online grocery stores to get product substitutions right.
Somogyi explained that improving the technology used to make substitutions is an “area of investment for grocery stores” because failure to properly fulfil orders can directly impact sales.
The Arrell Chair in the Business of Food and a professor in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, Somogyi researches agri-food value chain analysis and management.
