Environmental science professor Dr. Madhur Anand’s upcoming poetry collection, Parasitic Oscillations, was included in the CBC Books list of 46 Canadian poetry collections to watch for in spring 2022.”  

The list says the award-winning author and ecologist’s second poetry collection, available in March, “examines a variety of philosophical and ethical dilemmas to inform and question” in the context of environmental collapse and draws from Anand’s lived experiences. 

Anand is the director of the Guelph Institute for Environmental Research and a professor in the School of Environmental Sciences. Her first poetry collection is called A New Index for Predicting Catastrophes and her memoir, This Red Line Goes Straight to Your Heart: A Memoir of Halves, won the 2020 Governor General’s Literary Award for non-fiction
