Dr. Robin Milhausen, a sexual health researcher in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, spoke to the Wall Street Journal about why the pandemic seems to have sapped away many people’s sex drive.
The article notes that the stress of the pandemic has caused many of us to get out of shape over the last year and half, leaving many unconfident in the bedroom.
“Body image has a powerful impact on our sexuality,” Milhausen commented. “And we’re our own harshest critics.”
Milhausen’s research focuses on sexual and relationship satisfaction. She is currently studying how marriages have fared through the pandemic with the Kinsey Institute.
